Life coaching for those recovering from addiction
You’re in the right place if...
You recognize addiction in your life.
Are you beginning to question your relationship with alcohol, gambling, or other compulsive behaviors? You haven’t yet experienced a dramatic collapse, but are noticing clear warning signs — more fights with a partner, waking up hungover multiple days a week, or feeling disconnected from the quality of time spent with your children or loved ones.
You’re high-functioning and are noticing a shift
You may still be holding everything together on the surface, but you know something is shifting inside. You’re starting to imagine a version of your life where the damage becomes real — and you want to make a change before that happens! You’ve likely tried to cut back on your own, or maybe you’ve considered attending a group like AA, but it just doesn’t resonate.
You need some structure
If you’re looking for a structured, nonjudgmental approach that respects your autonomy and helps you rebuild from a place of clarity rather than crisis, you’re in the right place.
About
Cognitive Compass
Hi, I’m Caleb! I help you change how you think, so you can change how you live.
I offer one-on-one, non 12 step recovery coaching for people who know something in their life needs to change but haven’t found a home in traditional recovery programs. Drawing from my own lived experience and my certification through the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, my coaching is structured yet personalized, focused on helping clients build the life they want through practical strategies and daily practice.
I work with people facing a wide range of maladaptive behaviors, including substance use and gambling addiction, guiding them to develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and long-term change. For the past two years, I’ve facilitated SMART Recovery groups and also host a weekly mindfulness-based discussion group using fables and music to explore the beliefs and patterns that shape our lives.
I spent years battling alcohol addiction that cost me my marriage and brought me to the edge of a cliff. Looking over that edge, I saw just how close I was to doing irreversible damage to the trajectory of my life. I stepped back and began rebuilding. Through focused thought work and uncompromising change, I created a new vision of the good life. Today, that means serving in senior leadership at Habitat for Humanity in Lima, Ohio, founding Cognitive Compass, and being fully present in the lives of my two sons.
My goal is simple: to help others find the same clarity, stability, and direction that turned my life around without shame, labels, or rigid paths.
